Opportunity knocks
Volunteering at DIVD Academy
DIVD Academy runs on volunteers: researchers, developers, teachers and community builders who want to make the digital world safer. Because we are growing fast we only fill specific roles at a time.
What the process looks like
- 1. Check the open roles
We publish the roles we are currently looking for. If nothing fits yet, keep an eye on the page — this changes regularly. - 2. Complete the introduction
Take the free DIVD Academy Introduction so you know what we do and how we work. - 3. Register as a volunteer
Fill in the volunteer registration form. - 4. Introductory meeting
You meet our Head of People and Culture, and then the head of the department you would join. - 5. Certificate of conduct (VOG)
You receive an email from Justis to request a free certificate of conduct and upload it. The digital version is preferred; a photo of the paper version also works. - 6. Sign the volunteer agreement
The agreement confirms that you follow the DIVD Academy code of conduct. - 7. Receive your accounts
You get your DIVD Academy credentials via Google Workspace, set up two-factor authentication and activate your internal Slack account. - 8. Start contributing
Read the handbook, introduce yourself in Slack and get going.
Expect this to take a while
Onboarding including screening takes between one week and two months. In the meantime you are very welcome in the open DIVD.community Slack, where you can meet volunteers and like-minded people from across the DIVD family.
