Activate your DIVD Academy accounts

1. Your Google Workspace account

1. Create a separate browser profile. Use a fresh profile in Chrome or a Firefox profile for your DIVD account. That keeps your school or private account and your DIVD account from mixing up.
2. Open the invitation email. In your own inbox, look for the message “You’re invited to join DIVD (Academy) on Google Workspace”. Check your spam folder if you cannot find it.
3. Click “Get started” or “Accept invitation”. You land on a sign-up page for your new DIVD Academy address.
4. Set your password and finish the setup. Accept the terms and complete your profile. After this you have access to Gmail, Drive and Calendar under your DIVD Academy account.
5. Set up two-factor authentication. This is mandatory. Use an authenticator app or a security key; we work with vulnerability data, so an account without 2FA stays closed. See Google’s instructions.

2. Your Slack account

1. Open the Gmail of your new DIVD Academy account (not your private mail) and look for the invitation to the DIVD Academy Slack.
2. Accept the invitation and sign in with Google. Use the “Continue with Google” option and pick your DIVD Academy account — not a personal Slack account you may already have.
3. Install the Slack app on your laptop and phone and set your display name and photo, so people know who they are talking to.
4. Introduce yourself in the channel your supervisor points you to, and you are up and running.

Note: the internal DIVD Academy Slack is something different from the open DIVD.community Slack, which anyone can join. You may end up in both.
